Description
Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Position
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) on the 5th floor
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
- Care for stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery, telemetry, and medical patients
- Unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 5:1
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No call requirements
- Float to Medical, Telemetry, and Neonatal units as needed
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including Neuro PCU experience
- PCU experience within the last year
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 60 miles away to qualify for travel status
- Orientation start dates are scheduled on specific dates from August through December 2026
- Unit specialty includes neuro medical strokes, neuro-orthopedic surgeries, overflow telemetry, and medical patients
Work Environment
- 20-bed unit focused on neuro progressive care
- Patient ratio: 5 patients per nurse
- Adult and geriatric patient population
