Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location

  • Reno, Nevada

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

  • High Risk Obstetrics unit
  • 15 labor beds, 9 antepartum beds, 3 OR suites
  • Fast-paced, high acuity environment serving a large regional area
  • Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation
  • Hospital size: approximately 800 inpatient beds, 80 ER beds
  • Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center

Shift Details

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (days)
  • May be required to float to other maternal units including Postpartum (PP) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and occasional additional shifts
  • No call requirements
  • Travelers may be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • Employer may cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census (full or partial shifts)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Nevada
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with High Risk patients
  • Certifications required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Additional Information

  • Must be competent to float to other maternal care areas as needed
  • Extremely busy and advanced facility with state-of-the-art technology and specialized programs including:
    • Accredited heart failure center
    • Institute for Neurosciences
    • Low-dose CT imaging
    • Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
    • PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and 3T MRI technologies
