Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location
- Reno, Nevada
Employment Type
- Travel contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Description
- High Risk Obstetrics unit
- 15 labor beds, 9 antepartum beds, 3 OR suites
- Fast-paced, high acuity environment serving a large regional area
- Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation
- Hospital size: approximately 800 inpatient beds, 80 ER beds
- Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (days)
- May be required to float to other maternal units including Postpartum (PP) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and occasional additional shifts
- No call requirements
- Travelers may be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Employer may cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census (full or partial shifts)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Nevada
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with High Risk patients
- Certifications required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Additional Information
- Must be competent to float to other maternal care areas as needed
- Extremely busy and advanced facility with state-of-the-art technology and specialized programs including:
- Accredited heart failure center
- Institute for Neurosciences
- Low-dose CT imaging
- Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
- PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and 3T MRI technologies
