Surgical Tech - Oregon (Medford)
Job Details
- Specialty: Surgery/OR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Location: Medford, Oregon
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days (typically 06:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
- Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- OR Suites: 15
- Team Composition: Typical team includes an RN, a scrub person (tech or RN), and a break relief person
- Dress Code: OR provided scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification via NBSTSA
- Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technician experience within the last year
- BLS Certification
Licensure
- CST certification required
- BLS required
- Non-Oregon licensed RNs may be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if permanent license is not posted before assignment start (note: applies to RNs, but CST must have certification)
Call and Scheduling
- Call required, averaging 50 hours per month of standby call
- 15-minute response time expected to back up 24/7 scheduled staff
- Call is generally not required during the first several weeks of orientation for comfort and adjustment
Orientation and Training
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation during the first work week
- Orientation typically lasts one week with current staff
- Call responsibilities begin after orientation period
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Client may cancel or call off up to 24 hours per 13-week contract period
- Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation period
