Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 7:30)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekends as needed
  • May float to other facilities as needed

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment

Certifications (as applicable)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required only for NICU specialty (not required here)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated for breaks in service of 2+ months
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed before onboarding
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Transcript/Diploma verification required
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to this assignment
  • Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exam required; must be updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
  • Negative 2-step TB test or chest x-ray within 6 months of start; annual renewal required
  • Required immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella with boosters if titers are negative or equivocal; no declinations accepted except for Hepatitis B (signed declination allowed)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; updated annually; one retest allowed for dilute results
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted

Onboarding and Training

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules (4-5 hours) prior to start; must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser
  • HIPAA orientation and safety manual acknowledgement required; updated annually
  • Badge photo required prior to start; badge must be obtained from facility after completing modules
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates

Additional Notes

  • All work history, including any previous positions at this facility, must be included in the application profile
  • Scheduling and time-off requests must be communicated during submission and interview
  • Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within the system as needed

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs licensed in Ohio seeking a travel contract with night shifts and a well-defined onboarding process.
