    Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

    Location: Carmichael, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Day (4 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM)
    Hours per Week: 32


    Job Description

    • Rotate between Mammography and X-Ray imaging.
    • Perform routine and specialized breast imaging procedures to produce quality diagnostic images.
    • Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gain cooperation and confidence.
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
    • May perform specific procedures and orient new staff to the department.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Mammography Technologist license in California.
    • Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
    • Recent mammography technologist experience within the last year.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • ARRT Mammography (ARRT M) certification.

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
    • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
    • EPLS, GSA, SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable.
    • Education verification required (not required if highest education is high school).
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
    • Professional references: 2 required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates.

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only.
    • ARRT Mammography certification.
    • ARRT Radiography certification preferred.
    • Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, IV Certification, and others may be position-dependent but are not specified as required for this role.
    • Competency exams as applicable to profession.

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime with booster.
    • Negative TB test (QGold, TSPOT, or PPD) within 90 days of start; annual renewal required.
    • Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
      • Measles (Rubeola)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination.
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law).
    • Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam required).
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually (not required for some roles).

    Facility-Specific Documents (Must Review/Sign Prior to Start)

    • Job description acknowledgment.
    • Standards of Business Conduct.
    • General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers.
    • Vendor Training (2024 or 2025 depending on contract date).
    • Code of Conduct (2024 or 2025 depending on contract date).
    • Overpayment Refund Policy (2024 or 2025 depending on contract date).
    • Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation.
    • TB Screening Questionnaire (signed by candidate and healthcare provider).
    • Religious accommodation forms if applicable.

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates with religious exemptions for vaccines or facial hair must complete specific exemption forms and obtain approval.
    • Candidates must comply with all facility and regulatory requirements to maintain clearance.
    • Onsite EKG exam may be required for some nursing roles but not specified for this position.
