Description
Physical Therapist - Travel Contract
Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Implement treatment plans and select modalities to meet established goals.
- Provide prescribed physical therapy treatments to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients.
- Assist in evaluating patient progress and recommend discharge planning.
- Conduct and assist with patient activities and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct, hospital licensing, accreditation standards, and the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Delegate patient treatment procedures and modalities appropriately.
- Provide safe and comprehensive discharge planning.
- Maintain individual productivity according to department standards.
- Document patient care thoroughly, timely, legibly, and consistently.
- Utilize resources to assist with patient flow (e.g., printing forms, scheduling).
- Educate and mentor student interns as assigned.
- Participate in special department programs.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary communication to maximize patient outcomes.
- Communicate positively and timely with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, and other departments.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, except holidays and clinic closures
- Four 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours total)
- Overtime paid after 40 regular hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in California
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- A Bachelor's Degree or a higher-level degree in Physical Therapy
Preferred Qualifications
- Physical therapy or healthcare experience
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
- Knowledge and ability to administer all department modalities, programs, and protocols appropriate to patient age groups
- Basic physical therapy skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff
Additional Information
- Experience working in healthcare settings is preferred
- Productivity and documentation standards must be met consistently
- Participation in interdisciplinary teams and mentoring roles expected
