Description
Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer - Radiology (Travel Assignment)
Location
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Facility located on 1st floor of main campus
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- 400 beds
- 1-2 ultrasound tech staff on unit (alongside X-ray, MRI, and CT staff)
- Imaging department
- Patient exam volume: approximately 1-2 exams per hour
- Equipment includes Philips Epiq5, Parks Vascular, and Trophon transducer cleaning system
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic
Shift Details
- Monday through Thursday, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Call and holiday coverage as scheduled if it falls on shift
- No weekend shifts required
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in OB/Gyn sonography
- Experience in vascular sonography
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and RDMS certification in Abdominal or OB
Typical Procedures
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Soft tissue head/neck (thyroid, parathyroid, submandibular)
- Thyroidectomy post-op scans
- Pelvic with transvaginal and Doppler
- Testicular with Doppler
- Renal Doppler
- Liver Doppler
- Upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex and Doppler
- Pylorus and appendix imaging
- Infant brain, hips, and spine scans
- Hemodialysis access imaging
- Carotid duplex
- Obstetric ultrasounds (complete, limited, follow-up, biophysical profile, umbilical Doppler)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Accountable for providing high-quality ultrasound imaging for licensed practitioner interpretation
- Deliver appropriate patient care essential for successful procedure completion
- Adhere to professional standards and maintain a healthy work environment
- Must be adaptable, patient-centered, and demonstrate independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Dress Code
- Charcoal grey scrub top and bottom
- Solid colored undershirts (black, white, or grey)
- Grey scrub jacket
- Non-porous shoes required
