Description
Registered Nurse - Critical Care (ICU) - Night Shift
Location: Aurora, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Float: Between ICU and Telemetry units
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care in critical care and telemetry settings using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Responsible for safe patient care, hemodynamic monitoring, interpreting diagnostic results, and responding quickly to changes in patient condition.
- Guide patient/family education and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 1 year of Critical Care Float experience within the last year.
- Experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Telemetry units.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Completion of NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Completion of Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP).
- Valid Driver's License.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Must pass the following exams with a minimum score of 80%:
- Basic Pharmacology Exam
- Specialty Exam
- Core Competencies Exam
- Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start.
- Annual fit test for respirator masks (must be completed prior to start).
- Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- COVID-19 (2 vaccines + booster or declination)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination)
- Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
- Varicella (vaccination or immunity titer)
- Tdap (declination not accepted in some states)
- Tuberculosis (TB) test within one year of start date and annual TB questionnaire.
- Physical/Health statement confirming clearance to work (annual).
- National criminal background check within one year of start date.
- Social Security Card or Passport for identity verification.
- Recent resume reflecting accurate and current work history.
- Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor).
- Signed job description within the past year.
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) or agency attestation.
- Badge photo (clear headshot with plain background).
- Completion of onboarding education attestation prior to clearance to start.
