Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
  • Schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Call Requirements:
    • Must be within a 45-minute radius for call back.
    • Weekday backup call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Monday-Friday).
    • Weekend call (primary or backup) from 7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Monday, including holidays if needed.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of experience required.
    • Neuro experience required.
    • Scrub experience required.
    • First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification

Competencies & Exams

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required.
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (Relias or Prophecy only), must be renewed annually.
  • Pass/fail testing acknowledgment required.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required; must be completed or pending prior to start and updated annually.
  • Radiation badge required for Radiology Technologists; provided by facility.
  • Candidate must complete and sign facility policies including floating and time & attendance policies.
  • Consent to release information must be completed prior to start.
  • Review and comply with hand hygiene policy.

Additional Notes

  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start required for travel positions.
  • Employment application and work history verification required (verification of 2 workplaces within last 7 years).
  • Candidate must be prepared to prioritize and pass required exams (e.g., EKG) within limited attempts to avoid cancellation.
  • Temporary paper receipt for ID acceptable only as placeholder until official ID is received.
