Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection, or inhalation for diagnostic scans.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as SPECT/CT scanners to produce images of brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensure their comfort, and position them appropriately for scanning.
  • Process and produce computer-generated images for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain detailed records of radiopharmaceutical usage and procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols to protect staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Stay current with advances and developments in nuclear medicine technology and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Hampshire
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle stress related to responsibility for quality patient care.

Additional Information

  • Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
  • Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
