Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Weekend Requirement: Yes
On-Call Requirement: Yes

• 12-13 days of call in a 6-week period
• Call hours: 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM weekdays; 5:30 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday on weekends (rotating schedule)

Job Description

• Position requires strong experience as a Cath Lab Tech with Interventional Radiology (IR) experience.
• Floating to other units or sister facilities is not required or expected.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
• Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Cath Lab Technologist experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification

Call and Scheduling Details

• Call schedule is mandatory with specific hours and frequency as noted above.
• No block scheduling accommodations.
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted but at a reduced rate (pay details excluded).

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID (must match state of residence).
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (specific mask types required).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific requirements for PPD tests)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; negative titers require 2 boosters 28 days apart
  • Hepatitis B: proof of vaccination, positive titer, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, including Moderate Sedation Competency and IR specialty testing.
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to meet all call and weekend requirements.
• Candidates must complete fingerprinting if assigned to school placements (state-specific requirement).
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the employer over 1 year.
• No floating or block schedule flexibility.

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Techs with Cath Lab expertise who are ready for a travel contract with defined call responsibilities and weekend work.
