OR Tech / Surgical Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in Main OR covering general surgery, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, vascular, plastics, gynecology, urology, and robotics cases.
• Position specialty: Surgical Services (OR Tech).
• Shift: Day shift, typically 3 shifts of 12 hours (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM), totaling 36 hours per week.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities.
• Weekend and on-call requirements will be discussed during interview.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Locals accepted at the same rate.
• Facility is smoke-free; all travelers must be nicotine-free (verified by negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine).

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 1.5 years of experience.
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Certifications & Competencies

• National certification verification required within 30 days of start.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required.
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) not required for this role (only for RNs/LPNs).
• ACLS not required for OR Tech.
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, Chemo, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification) not required for this position.

Onboarding & Compliance

• Time-sensitive online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start; cannot be completed on mobile devices and must be done in Google Chrome.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; additions later may not be approved.
• 2 professional references required within 2 years of start date.
• Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually.
• Facility uses EPIC for charting.
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces.
