Job Overview

  • Travel RN position in Marquette, Michigan
  • 13-week contract
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend
  • Call required only if census is low
  • Floating required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Michigan
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit
  • Experience with cardiac patient populations
  • Experience with chest tubes
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
  • Telemetry experience

Clinical Experience

  • Cardiac patient populations
  • Cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
  • Cardiac stepdown / PCU populations
  • Chest tubes
  • Low-level ICU skills

Unit Details

  • 36-bed cardiac IMC / medical-surgical telemetry unit
  • Patient ratios: 1:5-6 for cardiac patients; 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
  • Telemetry monitoring used

Common Patient Conditions

  • Chest pain
  • VATS
  • Stroke/TIA
  • Pre- and post-open heart surgery
  • Pacemakers
  • Heart blocks
  • Vascular conditions
  • CHF

Additional Notes

  • Teamwork is emphasized
  • Blue or navy scrubs required
