Description

Registered Nurse (Progressive Care) - Travel Assignment

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Unit: Medical Progressive Care Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
Float Requirement: Must float to other inpatient areas when home unit census is low


Unit Details

  • Number of Beds: 27
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
  • Equipment: Alaris Pumps, EKG monitoring
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Epic
  • Patient Types: Sepsis, respiratory distress, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, psychiatric disorders, renal conditions

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience and skills with medication administration including drips such as norepinephrine, nicardipine, precedex, and insulin

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic EMR system

Work Environment & Culture

  • Team-oriented with emphasis on positive attitude, flexibility, and empathy
  • Dress code: Navy scrubs required; hoodies and non-facility sweatshirts are not allowed

Orientation & Reporting

  • Orientation includes completion of education modules on the first day, Epic training if needed, and one day of unit orientation
  • Reporting location: 4 West in Tower building
  • Parking: Employee parking in designated yellow-lined spots

Additional Notes

  • This is a travel nursing position requiring commitment to the specified contract length and shift schedule
  • No on-call requirements for this role
