Registered Nurse (CVOR) – Prescott, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: CVOR RN
- Location: Prescott, Arizona
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM), Monday through Friday with call
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Unit: Surgery (Main/West Campus)
- OR Suites: 6 plus hybrid room
- Cases per Day: 20-30 (including total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, cardiovascular for open heart team)
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of full-time CVOR nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certification required for RNs
- Scrubbing skills required but RNs do not scrub in this role
- Must be able to work in both OR and CVOR settings
Call and Scheduling Requirements
- Cardiovascular OR call: 5-10 weeknights per 6 weeks, up to 50% call responsibility
- General OR call: 4-5 weeknights per 6 weeks
- Weekend call: CVOR 2 weekends per 6 weeks; General OR 5 twelve-hour shifts per 6 weeks
- Holiday call: 2-3 twelve-hour shifts per year
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Call is shared equally among staff in the same role; travelers take call after 1-2 weeks on assignment
Additional Information
- Charge nurse and specialty leads available as resources; house supervisor onsite 24/7
- Scrub techs available to assist; RN does not scrub
- Floating to other departments (e.g., delivering food trays, patient sitting) is rare and will not include procedural areas such as Pre-op or PACU
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Orientation: 3-5 shifts depending on case load and exposure
