Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location

Position Details

- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: August 3, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 07:00)
- Staffing Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On Call: Not required
- Floating: Required to support all settings as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

- Critical Care Unit (CCU) / Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Post-acute unit
- General care units
- Pediatric patients limited to ED only; critical pediatric patients are transferred elsewhere
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Uniform
- Navy blue scrubs
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I-9 attestation and E-Verify compliance
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Social Security Number trace
- County, nationwide, sex offender, and OFAC/FACIS searches
- Education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models accepted)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) if working with children or pediatric units
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption for the 2025-26 season
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination proof required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination accepted (series not accepted)
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80%+)
- Age-specific competency exam (score 80%+)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (score 80%+)
- Color blindness testing (required for clinical staff)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo with solid white or beige background for badge
- Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
- Dress code review prior to start
- Badge ID application completed prior to start
- Standards of conduct and confidentiality statements completed prior to start
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out form may be required depending on prior Epic experience
Additional Notes
- Floating across multiple units is required to support respiratory therapy needs
- Pediatric care limited to Emergency Department only; critical pediatric patients are transferred
- On-call duties are not required for this position
