Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit & Schedule Details
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) not accepted for this unit.
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
- Unit accepts first-time travelers.
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) turnaround time: 7 days.
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it.
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both.
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks).
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience (minimum 1 year within the last year).
- Respiratory Therapist experience.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; if positive, negative chest x-ray within 6 months required.
- TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB test result.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination required.
- Flu vaccination or declination required annually during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers.
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling.
- Orientation hours are non-billable and vary by contract length.
- Candidates must be prepared to work assigned holidays as outlined.
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
