Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Winchester, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 44-bed Medical Surgical unit with a patient ratio of 1:6.
• Facility includes a 10-bed ICU, 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit, Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, five OR Suites, two Endoscopy Suites, and a 13-bay Emergency Room.
• Serves patients of all ages.
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36, including 24 weekend hours.
• Call requirements: As needed; must arrive within 30 minutes to 1 hour if called in.
• Float to other units as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to start.
• Experience with Meditech Electronic Health Record system.

Work Environment & Culture

• Professional personality fit preferred.
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no casual wear or hoodies.
• Orientation sessions held weekly on Mondays.

Additional Information

• Position is for travel nurses located 60 miles or more from the facility.
• Trauma Level II facility.
• Patient population includes a broad range of ages and conditions typical of a medical surgical unit.
