Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position

Location: Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Unit Size: 4 beds
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 depending on patient status
• Float Requirement: Must be willing and able to float to Medical-Surgical unit if ICU is closed for the shift, with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), STEMI, Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), Respiratory Failure
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: EPIC
• Equipment Used: Ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Arterial Lines (A Lines), CPAP

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Must complete and clear all required Pennsylvania screenings prior to start, including:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Department of Human Services Fingerprinting
  • FBI Fingerprinting (within last two years or new submission required)
  • Pennsylvania State Police Clearance (PATCH)
• Fingerprinting and clearances must be completed before candidate can be cleared to start
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff

Work Environment

• Trauma Level: IV
• Dress Code: No specific scrub color required

This position is an urgent backfill for a critical care RN with ICU experience in a suburban/rural setting.
