Job Opportunity: Pediatric CVOR Tech

Location

  • Memphis, Tennessee

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Hours: 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM (10-hour shifts)
  • Off on Thursdays
  • On-call: 3-4 calls per month expected

Job Description

  • Position requires experience in Cardiovascular (CV) Pediatric Operating Room (OR) services.
  • Must have Pediatric experience (strict requirement).
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with at least some experience within the last year.
  • At least 2 years of total travel experience.
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients.
  • NBSTSA certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Certifications

  • NBSTSA certification (mandatory for OR Techs).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC only.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA or ARC only.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AAP only (required for NICU and newborn areas, may be relevant).
  • Other certifications as applicable to surgical techs.

Licensure

  • State license as applicable (TN license or multistate license if applicable).
  • CT Techs assigned to TN do not require a TN state license but must have national certification.
  • OR Techs require national certification (CST or NBSTSA).

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Complete background check within 60 days of start, covering past 7 years and all states/counties lived or worked.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter.
  • Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu).
  • Sex offender search required separately.
  • Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required (for TN facilities).
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Fit mask test (3M N-95 1860 or 1870+), passed within 1 year prior to start.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for this facility).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt).

Additional Requirements

  • Two recent professional references required.
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable.
  • Photo for badge with strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, recent within 6 months).
  • Must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation at time of application.
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, steel gray for surgical techs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.

Notes

  • Start date: ASAP
  • RTO submitted after offer will not be accepted.
  • Onsite fit test and questionnaires may be required prior to start.
  • Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed before starting.

This position is ideal for experienced Pediatric Cardiovascular OR Techs with travel experience or strong local experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in Memphis, TN.
