Mammographer I - Oklahoma, Edmond
Job Summary
Perform specialized breast imaging services to assist providers in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring breast conditions. Work is typically outpatient and involves using specialized mammography equipment under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic mammography imaging as ordered by care providers.
- Ensure testing is safe, high-quality, and patient-centered.
- Prepare patients and review clinical history before procedures.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about testing and results.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide exceptional care.
- Use specialized mammography equipment and techniques following scope of practice guidelines.
- Conduct post-test quality reviews to meet departmental and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks.
- May participate in teaching and mentoring students or new team members.
- Support inventory management to ensure supply availability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT.
- Completion of a JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
Certification & Licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- ARRT Mammography (ARRT(RT)(M)) certification required within 1 year of hire.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
- Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience in a clinic setting.
