MRI Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform diagnostic MRI scans and assist radiologists and referring physicians during MRI procedures.
• Ensure patient care across all age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Operate MRI scanners efficiently and accurately, applying advanced technical skills and physics knowledge.
• Make technical decisions to optimize MRI image quality.
• May be required to float to other areas within competency.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with trauma and stroke accreditation.
• Schedule includes 3 shifts of 12 hours each, varied night shifts, rotating days, weekends, holidays, and call shifts. Call is required.
• May need to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts as needed.
• Must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication under pressure.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• ARRT certification in MRI.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience with GE Healthcare MRI scanners.

Additional Information

• The facility is a Level II trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds, serving a large regional area.
• The environment demands high standards similar to a Level I trauma center.
• The position requires proficiency with hospital and department computer systems.
• The facility offers advanced technologies including 3T MRI, PET/CT scanners, and robotic surgical systems.

Work Environment

• Extremely busy and fast-paced.
• High patient volume with trauma and stroke cases.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to respond to multiple simultaneous demands.
