Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Murray, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Call Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday
Floating: Required as needed within scope

Job Requirements

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid state license for Nuclear Medicine Tech (Primary source verification required)
• BLS certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or U.S. Department of Defense accepted; RQI BLS acceptable)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications as required
• National certification for Echo Techs (ARDMS) or other applicable tech certifications as relevant
• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during working hours

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years (including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS level 3)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
• Instant state search accepted as placeholder until full county checks are completed

Health & Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam and annual updates confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Fit test completed on first day at facility
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 – October 31) or approved medical/religious exemption
• COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start; medical/religious exemptions reviewed by facility

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Facility-specific orientation packet required
• Compliance with facility-specific exemption forms for flu and COVID-19 vaccinations if applicable

Additional Notes

• Floating within the scope of practice may be required
• Must comply with all facility and system policies and procedures
• Must carry government-issued photo ID during all working hours

This position offers a structured 4x10 hour day shift schedule with weekend call responsibilities every third weekend. It is ideal for Nuclear Medicine Technologists with at least one year of specialty experience seeking a travel contract in Kentucky.
