Description
OR Tech / Surgical Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Castro Valley, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Certified OR Tech needed for multiple surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, OB/Gyn, and Trauma.
- Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required.
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- On-call is not required but may be offered/available.

Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
- At least 1 year of total travel experience.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification.
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including:
- Job description
- Standards of business conduct
- Abuse policy
- Confidentiality agreement
- Vendor training and code of conduct (for contracts signed 5/31/24 and beyond)
- TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider
- Background check attestation and conditional clearance policies apply.
- Religious exemption requests for PPE and vaccines handled on a case-by-case basis.
- EKG competency or pass/fail testing may be required depending on position.

- This is a travel/contract position requiring flexibility and prior travel experience.
- Floating to other units within scope is expected.
- The facility uses EPIC for charting; experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Weekend work every other weekend is mandatory.
- On-call shifts are optional and may be offered.
