Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
- Night shift
- Unit bed size: 34
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
- Patient population: Mixed, includes drips and titrations
- Float opportunity to nearby freestanding ED campus
- EMR system: EPIC
- Orientation dates available in early August
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless unit is closed (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment within the previous 18 months
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Certificate)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Preferred Qualifications
- Active PALS and TNCC certificates highly preferred (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certificate is nice to have but can be obtained during onboarding
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Orientation is 16 hours
- Holiday and overtime pay multipliers apply (details not included here)

- Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius of the location
- Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from travel assignments in this market

Prior Travel Experience
- Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 18 months
