Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Evenings)
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings
Hours per Day: 8 (with potential opportunity for additional shifts up to 48 hours per week, not guaranteed)
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care for individuals and groups.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
- Document and report all necessary information according to policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
- Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
- May serve as charge nurse and be involved in scheduling, staffing, and training direct care staff.
- Uphold professional standards, promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and demonstrate compassion and integrity in patient care.
- Support a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
- Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working with pediatric patients
