Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Nights Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Calais, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Direct and coordinate patient care team members to provide individualized, quality patient care.
• Develop patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, care team members, patients, and families as appropriate.
• Utilize professional nursing skills through the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) on the unit.
• Promote teamwork with medical staff and hospital personnel related to the unit.
• Adhere to hospital policies on confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Function independently with strong assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills.

Shift Details

• Night shift
• Med/Surg unit
• Three 12-hour shifts per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the State of Maine.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Experience

• Specialty: Nursing (Med/Surg)
• Minimum years of experience: 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Skills

• Excellent assessment and clinical judgment.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Proficient with computer systems related to patient care documentation.
