Description
Registered Nurse — PCU
Location
Savannah, Georgia
Contract Length
13–14 weeks
Shift
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license at time of submission
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience in the last 3 years
- Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
- Experience with telemetry
- Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
- No license hits; current NURSYS report required at submission
Schedule / Assignment Details
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required
- Self-scheduling available
- Block scheduling may be provided when possible
- No call or standby
- No floating
Unit Details
- 12-bed unit
- Mixed PCU and Med-Surg / Med-Tele patient population
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5 depending on acuity
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- Nurse aides are present
- RN performs own lab draws
- Drips are titrated by the RN
- Respiratory support includes nasal cannula, face masks, and BiPAP
- Telemetry is monitored off-unit
- RN does not read own strips
Orientation
- One day of computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
- Two shifts of orientation with a preceptor
- Onboarding must be completed at least 7 calendar days before start date
Submission Notes
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
- Submission must include full availability, requested time off, current same-specialty references, and resume details for recent facilities worked
