Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Mixture of 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am) and 8-hour shifts (11pm–7am)
- Hours per week: 36 (0.9 FTE)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: As needed
- Call and floating: Not required
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Respiratory therapy experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- I9 Attestation and E-Verify compliance
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check (including Pennsylvania PATCH search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start (may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days)
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
- Professional References: 2 professional references within last 3 years
- Employment Application/Resume: Most recent required
- Skills Checklist: Annual requirement
Certifications (as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC accepted
- Other certifications as applicable per unit/job description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail within 72 hours of contract signing)
Health Requirements
Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
Fit mask testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific approved mask types required)
Immunizations or titers required with documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 90 days; PPD not accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Full vaccine series or positive titer preferred; declination form required for all candidates
- Varicella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination
Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (required for agency only, not by facility)
