Description

Registered Nurse — PCU

Location

  • Savannah, Georgia

Contract Length

  • 13–14 weeks

Shift

  • Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license at time of submission
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU experience in the last 3 years
  • Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
  • Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
  • Experience with telemetry
  • Must pass clinical resume review
  • No license hits; current NURSYS report required at submission

Unit Details

  • 12-bed unit
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5 depending on acuity
  • Combo Med-Surg and Stepdown/PCU unit
  • Common patient types include Med-Surg, sickle cell, and heart failure
  • Nurses titrate drips as needed
  • No phlebotomy; nurses draw their own labs
  • No tele/monitor techs on unit
  • Nurses do not read their own strips
  • Self-scheduling available
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays required
  • No call or standby
  • No floating
  • Navy scrubs required

Orientation

  • One day of computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
  • Two shifts of orientation with a preceptor

Submission Notes

  • Local candidates are not accepted due to a strict 100-mile radius rule
  • Submission must include full availability, requested time off, current same-specialty references, and resume details for recent facilities worked
