Transfuse blood
Wound vac changes
PCA pumps
Heparin drips per protocol

Unit Details

27 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratios: days 1:5 (max 6), nights 1:6 (max 7)
Charge nurse present on each shift
No monitor techs on the unit
No vents on the unit

Scheduling

Every other weekend
May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
No self-scheduling
No block scheduling

Floating

May float on a rotating basis to other MedSurg, MedSurg-Telemetry, or IMC units for lower-acuity patients

Orientation

1 day with educator
1 to 2 days with preceptor

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs or white scrubs
Scrubs are not provided
