Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

Days, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Every other weekend
Floating between PCU, Tele, and Med Surg
Schedule is published 6 weeks out, with assignments provided 2 hours before shift start

Required Qualifications

Active state RN license
2 years of experience in med/tele
1 year of PCU experience
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
Must be comfortable managing titratable drips, including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, and insulin
Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts before signing the contract

Unit Details

Float pool assignment across MedSurg Tele and PCU
May care for patients in ED holding areas
Common patient types include geriatric, ortho, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op patients
Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4; MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
Charge nurse does not take assignments
Nurse aides are used in all settings

Additional Notes

Must be flexible
No call or standby requirement
Solid color professional scrubs currently; navy scrubs later per dress code update
Orientation includes general hospital orientation plus unit-specific shifts on MedTele and PCU
