Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • Number of Beds: 24 bays
  • Typical Day Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Floating Area: Phase II recovery
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
  • Call: Rotated weekends and on-call

Job Description

  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care
  • Perform typical PACU procedures related to patient recovery after anesthesia

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the last year
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with additional relevant skills or experience in PACU will be considered first

Personality Fit

  • Best suited for individuals comfortable working in a fast-paced post-anesthesia recovery environment with a collaborative team
