Description

RN Surgical/Trauma ICU - PM Shift

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts, 3 shifts/week, 36 hours total)
Unit: 34 Bed Surgical & Trauma ICU
Patient Population: Surgical, Trauma, and Transplant (Kidney, Liver, Pancreas)
Staffing Ratios: Typically 1:2, 1:3 when acuity is low
Floating: Expected to float to other equivalent ICU and Stepdown units as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum 1 year or more of total travel nursing experience
  • Experience working with adult patients in a Level 1 trauma designated hospital or equivalent
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Valid driver’s license

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • Fit Test (3M N95 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR; annual requirement)
  • UCH ECG Exam completion and certificate upload
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required prior to start
  • Hepatitis B: Series of 3, positive titer, or declination accepted
  • TB Test: Completed within 60 days prior to start (QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test)
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required prior to start
  • Physical/Health Statement within 1 year
  • 9-panel Drug Screen completed within 60 days prior to start (must be repeated with any break in service)
  • Criminal Background Check completed within 90 days prior to start (includes 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, OIG, SAM, OFAC)
  • Two professional references within last 2 years from a charge nurse or higher
  • Highest level of education verification (3rd party or transcripts accepted)
  • Color badge photo (taken within past 6 months, no selfies, solid background)
  • Current UCH Skills Checklist completed within 12 months prior to start
  • UCH Internal Competency Checklist to be completed within 2 weeks after start date
  • UCH Annual Compliance Training Module completion certificate required

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID (address must match profile)
  • I-9 E-Verify attestation required

Job Expectations

  • Work every other weekend
  • Maintain compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to and during assignment
  • Adhere to regulatory and facility-specific policies and procedures

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity surgical and trauma ICU with a diverse patient population, requiring strong critical care skills and trauma experience.
