Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location

Lewiston, Maine

Contract Length

14 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with 37 beds
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Patient population includes medical management of diabetes, pneumonia, trauma, general surgery, bariatrics, plastics, and urology cases

Shift and Hours

Night shift: approximately 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
36 hours per week guaranteed
Every other weekend required
No call requirements

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maine
Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Experience

Surgical nursing experience
Bariatric patient care experience preferred

Unit Features and Equipment

Specialty beds for bariatrics, wound vacs, prevena vacs
Baxter IV pumps
Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, Epic
Ultrasound IV team available 7 AM to 10 PM to assist with IVs

Additional Information

The unit has a high patient turnover to accommodate surgical patients
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
