Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Unit & Work Details

  • Call: Yes, variable; typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 3-4 weeks
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Holidays: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2, expected to work both; if 3, expected to work two of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check completed within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others as specified
  • Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start (required by agency, not client)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; if past positive, additional documentation and negative chest x-ray within 6 months required
  • TB Questionnaire required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
    • TDAP highly recommended but not required; declination form available if not vaccinated
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable; candidates cannot start with results pending
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required annually during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Two clinical references required (agency requirement)
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months, renewed annually
  • Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start

Notes

  • Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final manager approval
  • Privileging and additional compliance checklists apply only to certain specialties (not applicable here)
  • Candidate must be fully compliant with all requirements to start on time
