Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
  • Contract length: 26 weeks
  • Unit is fast paced and high acuity

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 2 years of experience preferred for comfort on the unit; 3 years preferred
  • Experience with more than 300 births per month
  • Experience with circulating, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
  • BCLS
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • NRP

Unit Expectations

  • Double labor assignments are a daily occurrence
  • Float as needed
  • Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • No call requirement
  • RTO after booking is not allowed

Patient Population

  • Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care
  • Also cares for under-16-week high-risk maternity patients
  • Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage are performed

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Strong preference for RN circulate-to-OR experience
  • Unit orientation is 24 hours
  • Scrubs are provided in blue
