Work Schedule
- Day shifts, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Valid professional license for Ultrasound Technologist in Missouri (Primary source verification required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- ARDMS OB/GYN specialty certification
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in adult and high-risk OB ultrasound, including:
- Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics
- Use of GE Voluson Ultrasound Machines (E10, Expert 22)
- ViewPoint Reporting and Epic charting system
- Ability to perform exams and measurements such as:
- Abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm
- Duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, head, heart
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester fetal assessments
- Amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, inter/intra-orbital measurements
- Multiple pregnancy, placenta previa, umbilical cord Doppler, bladder, ovaries
- Transvaginal, uterus, vaginal, cold flow, Doppler studies, M-mode
- Must follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Floating between like departments, units, or facilities may be required
Additional Requirements
- Must live at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
- No pending licenses accepted
- No on-call required
- No weekend requirement specified
Facility and Equipment
- Use of GE Voluson Ultrasound Machines (E10, Expert 22)
- Charting in Epic electronic health record system
Compliance and Documentation
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
- Criminal background check within 6 months of start date, including:
- Statewide and nationwide searches
- Education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including panels for amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask (N95) certification and annual renewal required
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms for:
- Tdap (Tdap vaccine or declination required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 – April 1)
- Annual HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education must be completed prior to start
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific exams
References
- Two professional references required (supervisors within the last year preferred)
- For recently graduated candidates, references from clinical training director or sponsoring physician required
