Stepdown Cardiac RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Manchester, New Hampshire
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • No Thanksgiving RTO

Role Details

  • Traveler will be contracted to the ED unit to care for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED
  • Team nursing / helping hands approach
  • May float to similar units
  • Patient sitting may be assigned
  • Common patient types include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, and overflow medical/surgical/trauma/oncology/orthopedic cases
  • Unit work includes managing and titrating drips
  • Equipment used includes BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitoring system

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Hampshire
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • NIHSS
  • MAB
  • EKG

Preferred

  • ED experience

Scheduling

  • Every other weekend required

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted with 2 years of experience and EPIC experience
  • Pass/fail basic dysrhythmia testing is required onsite for this role
