Stepdown/PCU RN

Job Overview

  • Location: Springfield, Illinois
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Setting: Acute care hospital, Level I trauma center, Magnet hospital
  • Bed size: 562 beds

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • Use of Rapid Response Teams
  • Post Cardiac Angiogram care
  • Post MI care
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
  • Sheath Removal
  • TR Band management
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management

Preferred

  • ACLS
  • Cerner experience
  • Teaching hospital experience
  • Level I trauma experience

Schedule Notes

  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating as needed
  • Locals accepted
  • No on-call requirement
  • Block schedule may be discussed with the manager
  • No pending license accepted

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • RTO ideally no more than 5 days
  • Parking permit required, no cost
