Emergency Room Registered Nurse
Overview
- Location: Seattle, Washington
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Hours per week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Schedule / Work Expectations
- Every other weekend required
- Must be open to floating to different campuses
Clinical Setting
- Emergency department role
- Typical patient mix includes adult and pediatric ER, ambulance triage, ED holding, and lobby triage
- Facility includes hallway beds and standard ED beds
Common Clinical Skills / Procedures
- Breathing treatments
- Chest tube setup and care
- CPAP/BiPAP
- Procedure sedation
- RSI medication administration
- Trach care and vents
- Blood and blood product administration
- Cardioversion / defibrillation
- Cooling / warming blanket use
- CRRT/dialysis
- 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Rapid infuser use
Additional Notes
- Previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for at least 3 months to qualify
- Schedule is posted 6 weeks in advance
- Non-holiday DTO over 5 days may extend the contract by 1 week; more than 5 days may require manager review
