Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan
- Ability to titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin
Assignment Details
- Float assignment across a 60-mile radius zone
- May float to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
- Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
- 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- May be asked to go into the holiday rotation
- Rare call/standby for low census
Patient Population
- Adults and geriatrics
- Cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery post-appendectomy, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, general medicine, and stable long-term placement patients
Unit Notes
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4 depending on acuity
- Designated charge nurse on each unit
- Nurse aides are available
- Respiratory therapy equipment is available
Experience Preferences
- Prior neuro experience preferred
- Epic experience preferred
Orientation
- 1–2 days with a preceptor
- Clinicians should be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
Housing
- Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that supports the required 60-mile floating radius
