Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan
• Ability to titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin

Assignment Details

• Float assignment across a 60-mile radius zone
• May float to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• May be asked to go into the holiday rotation
• Rare call/standby for low census

Patient Population

• Adults and geriatrics
• Cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery post-appendectomy, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, general medicine, and stable long-term placement patients

Unit Notes

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4 depending on acuity
• Designated charge nurse on each unit
• Nurse aides are available
• Respiratory therapy equipment is available

Experience Preferences

• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Epic experience preferred

Orientation

• 1–2 days with a preceptor
• Clinicians should be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote

Housing

• Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that supports the required 60-mile floating radius
