Cath Lab Tech (Pediatric) - Travel/Contract

Location: Portland, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Weekend work required only when on call
• On-call duties required; must be able to work independently with physicians and nurses during on-call
• No floating within hospital; no block schedule accommodations unless specified
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted
• Pending license accepted if application is submitted and received by licensing board before start
• Maximum 1-2 week restriction on return to office (RTO)

Job Functions

• Assist physicians during pediatric cardiac catheterization procedures using complex radiologic imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, ultrasonography)
• Operate imaging equipment for both adult and congenital cardiac procedures
• Cross-train in other service areas such as Electrophysiology (EP) and Hybrid OR
• Prepare patients and supplies under sterile conditions; scrub in and assist during procedures
• Use fine motor skills for prepping supplies and threading stents/balloons on wires
• Obtain x-rays accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Operate automatic injectors and select appropriate contrast agents under physician direction
• Provide patient care during exams in collaboration with staff
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, report malfunctions, and coordinate equipment borrowing

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (AHA provider only)
