Unit Overview

Medical-surgical unit
16 beds
Maximum patient ratio: 6:1
Standard equipment
Mixed patient population including medical-surgical and COVID-positive patients
Floating may be required to medical-surgical units

Schedule

Rotating weekends as needed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of acute medical-surgical experience within the last year
Ortho or neuro-surgery background
Medical-surgical/telemetry background

Clinical Skills

IV insertion
Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
Central line maintenance
Medication administration
Documentation in EHR
Communication with the care team
