Description

Respiratory Therapist

Location

  • Twin Falls, Idaho

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Self-scheduling available
  • Block scheduling available
  • Department meetings required once per month
  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays as needed
  • Low-census call/standby per contract

Unit and Patient Population

  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Inpatient and ER coverage
  • Patients range from NICU to geriatrics
  • Areas covered include ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, a small pediatric unit, and Level III NICU

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • NICU experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • CRT or RRT credential via NBRC

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • STABLE and NRP are required only for NICU or for travelers handling babies

Responsibilities

  • Draw and analyze ABGs
  • Provide breathing treatments
  • Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilators
  • Assist with bedside bronchoscopy
  • Assist with intubation and may place an LMA

Floating

  • ICU
  • Floors
  • NICU
  • ER

Orientation

  • 1 week, based on experience

Other Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • A team lead or charge therapist is present on each shift
  • The traveler may serve as charge depending on experience and willingness
  • Any color scrubs are allowed
  • Radius rule: candidates must live outside 50 miles from the facility
