Registered Respiratory Therapist
Job Overview

- Shift: Nights, 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., rotating schedule
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- PALS
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer skills with ability to navigate EMR programs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cardiopulmonary care for patients with breathing disorders
- Perform respiratory assessments, screenings, and reassessments
- Determine treatment requirements based on physician orders
- Educate patients and families on pain management and discharge/follow-up instructions
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and consult a physician if adverse reactions occur
- Administer respiratory medications and monitor outcomes and side effects
- Conduct cardiopulmonary testing and adjust equipment as needed
- Maintain equipment, cleaning, calibration, and documentation
- Follow safety procedures and hand-off communication protocols
- Participate in performance improvement activities
