Description

Registered Nurse

Location

  • Dickinson, North Dakota

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • Day/night rotation
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification

Schedule and Work Setting

  • Self-scheduling
  • Weekends as needed
  • Floating to ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed
  • First to float

Unit Details

  • Med Surg/Peds unit
  • Adults and pediatric patients
  • Common patient types include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD
  • 17 beds total
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: days 1:4, nights 1:5
  • Charge nurse takes an assignment
  • Nurse aides are on the unit
  • Pediatrician is on call for pediatric patients
  • No vents on the unit; occasional BiPAP is managed primarily by respiratory therapy
  • Nurses apply telemetry to patients

Orientation

  • 1 unit-specific 12-hour shift of orientation, or one day and one night if needed

Additional Notes

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
  • Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • Facial hair may affect fit testing requirements
