Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40

Job Details

• Contract length: 7 weeks
• Weekend call: One weekend and 4-6 call days in a 6-week schedule
• Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Cardiac Cath Lab (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Certifications (as applicable to Cath Lab RN)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for critical care specialties including Cath Lab
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may not be required unless specified by unit description

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (includes Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Cocaine, Opiates, Methadone, PCP, Propoxyphene, THC)
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Immunizations and titers:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Annual flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• TB testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if prior positive, negative chest x-ray within 6 months and TB questionnaire required annually
• Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for telemetry and critical care areas; up to 3 attempts allowed before cancellation

Documentation and Policies

• Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
• Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
• Two clinical references required

• Clinical fit and eligibility determined by clinical screening and unit description review
• Orientation and compliance requirements are strictly enforced to ensure timely start
