Description
Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Details
- Contract length: 7 weeks
- Weekend call: One weekend and 4-6 call days in a 6-week schedule
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Cardiac Cath Lab (2 years of experience)
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications (as applicable to Cath Lab RN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for critical care specialties including Cath Lab
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may not be required unless specified by unit description
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (includes Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Cocaine, Opiates, Methadone, PCP, Propoxyphene, THC)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Immunizations and titers:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Annual flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- TB testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if prior positive, negative chest x-ray within 6 months and TB questionnaire required annually
- Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for telemetry and critical care areas; up to 3 attempts allowed before cancellation
Documentation and Policies
- Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
- Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Two clinical references required
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be prepared to work assigned call and holiday schedules
- Clinical fit and eligibility determined by clinical screening and unit description review
- Orientation and compliance requirements are strictly enforced to ensure timely start
