Job Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU
• Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
  • Education verification of highest level completed
• Work History Verification: 7 years required
• Employment Application and Resume
• Unit-specific Skills Checklist (annual)
• Photo for badge (clear headshot)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually
• Immunizations/Vaccine Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties (e.g., Henderson, Anderson, Smith, Gregg, and others) are not eligible for this travel assignment.
• Orientation and training may require fingerprinting (specific to some states).
• Core competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency tests may be required depending on the profession.
• Annual renewal of core testing and certifications may be required.
