CST/ORT - OR

Location

  • Charleston, South Carolina

Contract

  • Travel assignment
  • 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week

Schedule

  • Scheduled according to facility policy
  • Every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff
  • Day and night shifts available
  • CVOR call coverage includes 8–10 call shifts per 4 weeks, plus 24-hour Saturday and Sunday call
  • Main OR call coverage includes 3 call shifts per 4 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • CST
  • Cardiac operating room experience

Clinical Focus

  • Circulating RN support in general OR cases, including ortho, neuro, plastics, vascular, trauma, robotic OB/GYN, and urology
  • CVOR experience with complex thoracic and vascular cases, including AAA repairs, valve replacements, CABG, bypass, angiography, and stents
  • General circulating knowledge, including positioning, prepping, and facilitating the listed surgical cases
  • CVOR positioning, prepping, endovascular equipment, and facilitation of complex open thoracic and vascular cases

Unit Details

  • Main OR has 13 beds and CVOR has 2 rooms
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Staffing includes 1 RN/CST per room, turnover staff, 1 charge RN, and 4:1 anesthesia coverage
  • In-house night shift
  • No floating required
  • Patient experience expectation: AIDET

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs are provided by the hospital
  • Uses Meditech for documentation
